ABOUTOur company is located in Oostkamp Belgium, at the heart
of Europe. Based on a vast experience in avionics and wave
technology we offer high-tech electronic solutions for the
aviation industry. With a track record of over 50 years in the
RF-electronics industry we provide unique one-stop-shop
services, based on quality, reliability and manufacturing
excellence.
Our entire production process is based on the principles of
Lean Manufacturing. We are proud to be leaders in development,
manufacturing and installation of advanced avionic systems.
We cover a total product life cycle from development,
prototyping, industrialization, procurement, production,
up to maintenance and repair, customer support and
obsolescence management.
DEVELOPMENTOur engineering department holds competences and experience in RF, analog
and digital electronics design and software/firmware development. The list further
includes PCB design and mechanical engineering, as such providing coverage for
about the complete design track for a majority of electronic designs. Embedded in the
production site, engineering keeps track of their design, supporting its integration
and initial production phases. Our team has experience in radar & IFF technology.
PCB Design
Our PCB design division is known for
its enormous experience in the use of
specific Electronic Design Automation
tools for the development of different
printed board solutions, used as stand-
alone application or implemented in
larger electronic subsystems.
We offer PCB solutions for the global
electronics industry with a strong
focus on military and avionics. Our
Engineering team is specialized in
digital, mixed signals and RF designs.
Firmware Design
Our team programs FPGA’s and other
programmable logic and is experienced
in FPGA design.
Software Design
Throughout the process we design
and develop software solutions or
applications needed for your product.
Digital Hardware Design
We design microprocessor circuits as
well as circuits for digital programmable
devices like FPGA’s and CPLD’s.
RF Design
Our RF engineers have proven their
expertise in the field of product
development with several kinds of
products working from 5 MHz up to
26 GHz and applied in several areas
as radar, satellite communication, TV
broadcast reception, CATV-networks,
healthcare, etc.
Mechanical Design
For the definition, creation and detailed
design of mechanical structures the
latest state-of-the-art environment
is used as a basic parametric solid
modeling tool for the development
of 3D computer-aided design (CAD)
models and 2D technical drawings.

MANUFACTURINGOur company offers more than 50 years of experience in high-tech mechanical and
electronic production for aviation, defense and space products with a strong focus
on RF production. We cover a total product life cycle from development, prototyping,
industrialization, procurement, production, up to maintenance and repair, customer
support and obsolescence management. We support our customers by on-time
deliveries, product quality and value for money. Our production is managed by a
full-fledged SAP ERP system extended by a continuous improvement management
system and lean manufacturing programme.
Mechanical Parts Production
Advionics is equipped with modern
CNC-milling machinery. We have a
fully installed milling centre with an
automated warehouse which provides
24/7 parts production.
The complementary smaller CNC
milling stations guarantee flexibility to
meet the customer’s demands for the
production of mechanical parts.
Our machinery is equipped to mill
multiple materials with focus on
aluminum alloys.
Our competence in mechanical parts
production consists of the complexity
of structures to be milled. High depth
to radius ratio (>10) or small wall
thickness (<1mm) means no challenge
to us. Mechanical parts are produced
by several 4-axis horizontally milling
machines and additional turning lathe.
In order to prove accuracy, all parts are
measured by means of 3D coordinate
measuring device.
However, we don’t stop at milling,
deburring is at least as important for
(airborne) electromechanical parts as
milling itself.
As a standard, all our mechanical parts
get a vibratory finish. The vibrating
interaction of water, compound, media
and our mechanical parts produces the
required surface finish and deburring.
It is followed by a visual inspection and
manually deburring where necessary.
Mechanical parts production
For some very complex or larger
products, milling is not an option and
aluminum casting is required.
However casting hasn’t the precision
of milling. We have a substantial
experience to mill your casted product
to the precision you want.
To give your milled parts the best
protection possible, we can provide
them with a protective chemical
coating, to prevent corrosion.
Parts also can be finished with
protective paintwork. We offer wet
paint spraying and can accomplish
all of your demands.
We perform also the assembly of
different mechanical parts. There are
no restrictions concerning the kind of
connection: welded, glued, screwed
with or without screw thread coils,
press fitted, etc.
Circuit Board Assembly
For over 50 years we have been
fulfilling requirements of high reliability
sectors of industry, such as defense,
aerospace, space and avionics.
We are familiar with the supply of
PCB assemblies which meet the very
highest quality and reliability standards.
Through the years we have invested
on a regulary basis in our production
equipment and lay-out, resulting
in a state of the art machinery for
assembling your PCB’s.
Our close partnerships with multiple
PCB manufacturers enables us to
propose the right match for your needs
(urgency, design complexity, volume
and cost). We have full capability to
assemble all types of SMD components,
such as 00105 chips, BGA, BGA, POP,
placement, leadless devices and odd-
form components.
Conventional leaded components are
prepared in-house and are selectively
soldered or – if possible – through
intrusive soldering.
For over 20 years we have been
soldering complete boards onto silver or
gold plated cooling plates and housings
for high frequency applications using
our vacuum equipped vapor phase
soldering machine.
Soldering inspection according to
IPC-A610 / J-STD-001 is completed
through AOI, high resolution X-ray and
microscope by a very experienced staff.
Mechanical parts production
Conformal coating (UV or non-UV) is
accomplished by means of a Nordson
Asymtec and PVA coater. If desired, the
boards can be cleaned ultrasonically or
conventionally.
All processes are equipped for both
lead-free and lead-based production.
Our Production Support Software
enables paperless manufacturing on
each workstation. Full traceability can
be offered.
For the production of your substrates
we have a fully equipped Class 10.000
Clean Room.
We are focussing on wedge-wedge
bonding, ball-wedge bonding, parallel
gap welding and thermosonic bonding
of gold wires and gold ribbon for small
series. Modules can be hermetically
sealed under protective atmosphere
and leak tests can be performed.
Plasma cleaning, environmental stress
screening, burn-in tests and shock tests
are part of our know-how.Circuit board assembly
System Assembly
Cable Manufacturing
Our own cable manufacturing is
capable to create every possible cable,
cable assembly, wire harness and RF
cable assembly, always custom made
and according to IPC-620. We can
design custom cable assemblies from
customer specifications or assemblies
can be fabricated from customer
provided drawings. The cable product
range consists of AWG 28 single wires
up to stranded wire 6mm², multi pair,
semi-rigid and flat ribbon cables.
We are also very experienced in the
manufacturing of wire harnesses.
Meanly single wires are used in the
harness but can easily be combined
with all kind of cables such as coaxial
cables, multi-pair cables, etc.
With flexible, semi-rigid, and hand-
formable cable assemblies, our RF
cable assembly is capable to fulfill your
demands in this specific segment of
cable assembly.
All types of cables can be provided with
the necessary product labeling.
We also perform high voltage isolation
testing, as well as continuity and
capacitance testing. Long years of
test experience allows us to perform
MIL-SPEC and screening tests.
Sub Assembly
From integrating a PCB into a box
to the building of complex assemblies
– it has been our business for
over 50 years. Mounting, gluing,
interconnecting, wire wrapping, sealing
and pressure testing of all types of
sub-assemblies can be done.
If the positioning of components or
backplanes is critical we build tooling
to guarantee the interchangeability of
your products. Labeling of the products
and configuration management is a
standard practice.
Cable manufacturing Sub assembly
Integration
As a one-stop-shop we can integrate
the produced subassemblies, cables
and PCB’s into racks. Those racks can
be standard of the shelf or customized
to your needs. Integration of your own
modules into a system is also an option.
Given the fact that we have all
competences and machinery in house
we can act very fast to any last minute
change during integration or even
during your Factory Acceptance Test.
Qualified people perform electrical
safety tests on your racks and are in
close contact with test institutes to
perform EMC measurements on your
products.
Cable manufacturing
Integration
TESTINGEvery product is tested prior to shipping thus ensuring our customers the highest
quality standards and fit for purpose. We specialize in testing boards, modules
and complete systems. Our test equipment covers a range from DC up till 26 GHz.
Digital boards are tested with a Boundary Scan Tool, Power supply’s with
remote control loads, RF modules with network-, spectrum- and/or peak power
analyzers.
On customer request our products undergo stringent environmental and stress
screening tests (temperature/shock/vibration) in specialized test rooms.
Obviously our test equipment is calibrated. To reduce the down time of our test
equipment due to calibration, a calibration department was established.
This developed into a department which fulfills 2000 calibrations on electrical
and mechanical test equipment on a yearly basis. Not only for our own devices
but also for our customers.
If necessary, repairs are carried out by this department so the down time is kept
as low as possible.
QUALITY MANAGEMENTOur overall quality culture has always been, and is still the elementary basis of
the Advionics organization! More than 20 years ago we obtained the ISO 9001
certificate for our existing quality management system. Quality is integrated in
every level and every employee of our organization, due to frequent meetings,
workgroups, team corners, statistics …
In 2013 we extended the scope of our Quality management system to fulfill
the demands of the aerospace supplier quality system EN 9100:2009.
We also established the integration of the lean manufacturing principles in
every department.
To optimize our delivery performance we are an authorized economic operator
(AEO certified) so our shipped goods don’t lose unnecessary time at customs.
Not only quality is important to us, also the environment.
In order to control our impact on the environment we work according to the
ISO 14001 environment management system.

Our test division has experience
in the world wide installation
of IFF systems. Our engineers
have installed IFF systems in
more than 20 countries from US
to Philippines. They are able to
