Joining a Zoom Meeting from Internet Explorer/Edge Browser
1. From your e-mail click the
“Join Zoom Meeting” link
2. Internet Explorer should automatically try and download the file.
3. Click to open the Zoom installer at the bottom left side of the screen.

4. Click “Run” to start the install process.
5. Wait while Zoom is installed. Do not close this window.
6. Enter your name. Click “Join Meeting” to request admittance to the meeting. *TIP* whatever is entered in this box will be displayed in the meeting
7. You will be placed in to the waiting room until the host allows you entry to the meeting.

8. Once you have been admitted to the meeting you will be asked to select your audio connection. Computer Audio: Uses internet connection to connect to the meeting without a phone. Click “Join with Computer Audio” to join. *Requires speakers and microphone
Phone Call: Provides a call in phone number to connect to the meeting audio
9. If you selected Phone Call as your audio source you will be presented with the following pop-up. Click “Continue”.

1. To access audio controls click the ^ caret beside the microphone icon
2. Click Test Speaker & Microphone to launch a wizard
3. Do you hear a ringtone?
YES: Click Yes and proceed to the next step NO: Use the pulldown “Speaker 1” to select the other device
4. Speak and pause, do you hear a
replay? YES: Click Yes and proceed to the next step
5. NO: Use the pulldown “Microphone 1” to select the other device

1. To access audio controls click the ^ caret beside the Start Video icon
2. Select “Video Settings”
3. Select your camera (may already
be selected for you )
4. If you have a newer camera be sure to place a checkmark in the HD box
5. Mirror my video is suggested

Chat
1. You may be required to interact
with others in the meeting. To launch the chat portion of zoom locate the chat icon at the bottom of your screen.
2. On the right side of the screen
you will see a chat window with a list of meeting attendees. You may send messages to all attendees or an individual attendee. Everyone: select the pull down box (bottom right) and select everyone. With this setting anything entered in to chat will be sent to all attendees.
3. If you wish to chat directly with
another user in the meeting use the pulldown box (bottom right) to select the attendee’s name. Once you have selected a direct user the words “Direct Message” will appear beside in red. Direct Messages: are sent directly to the selected user and are not visible to the group or host. (The meeting host may disable direct messages)

Zoom In-Meeting Functions
Join launches a direct entry window where the meeting ID of the desired meeting can be entered
Meeting Information click the green check shield to display current meeting information

- Participant
- Invite Link
- Participant ID
- Encryption Status
Start Video enables your camera (if hardware is equipped)
Stop Video disables the camera
Chat launches a chat pane on the right hand side of the screen which allows you to chat with the host or other meeting participants (host may restrict this feature)
Mute toggles the mic on/off. *TIP* Holding down the space bar acts as a PTT (push to talk) key and temporarily unmutes
Reactions are available to participants of the meeting and may be disabled by the host
Share Screen allows you to share the contents of your desktop with the participants of the meeting *TIP* always be mindful to close any PHI before sharing your desktop
Raise Hand by clicking the participant’s button at the bottom of your screen, the participant list will appear on the left. Click the “Raise Hand” button at the bottom right of the participant’s list. *TIP* You can also use the Alt+Y keyboard shortcut to raise or lower your hand. (Option+Y for Macintosh)
View allows you to change the display between active speaker view and gallery view Speaker View displays the active speaker in the primary window Gallery View evenly distributes all attendees across the screen
