Location Ideas for my music magazine…

• From my research of pop magazines I found that most images are taken in a studio style, these images tend to have a plain background which results in more attention being on the model in the image.

• By having a plain background such as white or black it connotes sophistication and freshness, resulting in the image being more effective to the audience.

• I’ve also noticed that some images have patterned backgrounds such as flowers. This connotes relaxation, which is how the audience should feel when they are reading this magazine.

My location ideas… • I will take my image against a plain background, possibly an

orange brick wall. I think the way the natural brightness of the orange bricks contrasts the model will make the image look really effective, especially if my magazine has a seasonal theme as the orange-ness of the bricks somewhat looks like the orange autumn leaves.

• I may also take some of my images against a white wall, as to me the colour white connotes sophistication and freshness. This will result in my magazine looking sophisticated and mature- much like Billboard magazine.

• My images will be from multiple angles, for my fashion section I was considering having an image of someone posing against a brick wall with the camera looking up at them from below.
