Rule OUT• Female predominance 8:1• Absence of cutaneous lesions/

vasculitis• Elevated C3 level• Normal ANA level• Normal urinalysis, BUN and serum

creatinine, serum Na & K findings• Normal to slightly elevated WBC

count

Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC) Diagnostic Criteria

Classification as SLE by the SLICC criteria requires either of the following:• At least 4 of 17 criteria, including at least 1 of the 11 clinical criteria

and 1 of the 6 immunologic criteria• Biopsy-proven nephritis compatible with SLE plus ANA or anti-dsDNA

antibodies
