As you know, Prince of Peace School operates on 6 values we strive to exemplify on a daily basis:
community, all in, transformation, service, justice and joy. In previous months, your child has
learned about the values of community and service. This month our focus is on the value of joy.
As a school we want to bring joy to everyone’s daily lives by celebrating growth and success,
spreading positivity, and being proud of our school community. You may have noticed we are
bringing joy to the school day through shout-outs for students, staff and parents, Spirit Wear Days,
school events such as Breakfast with Santa,
Family Nights, Field Day and Monster Mash.
We celebrate students through attendance
awards, Leader Lunches and Archangel Awards.
We know Jesus brings us great joy in our lives. This month your child
will learn about how joy is throughout bible passages. The message to
us by God is one of joy! Students will study one bible passage and
identify the joy within. They will learn joyful songs and will create a
joyful display. If you have ways to bring joy to our school community,
please share them with me!

Value of Joy
Prince of Peace strives to create an environment based in faith, peace, and
family. We have a goal of having positive relationships between all stu-
dents and families. Through all of our hard work we can help accomplish
this goal by removing bullying from our building.
Bullying is :
When someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful
things to another person who has a hard time defending him/herself.
There is usually an imbalance of power, meaning the person doing the
bullying may be bigger, stronger, have more friends, or have authority
over the person he/she is targeting.
Help your child be an Up-Stander!
- Encourage your child to include as many kids as possible – invite those who may be alone.
- Practice with your child what they would say if they saw someone being bullied. Prepare them to say “Stop, that’s not
okay, that’s not funny.”
- Teach them kindness, forgiveness, and tolerance – kids who bully deserve a chance to make changes.
- Set a good example by speaking up against intolerance in your own life and refusing to participate in gossip – send the
message that any kind of bullying is not okay.
Let’s make Prince of Peace a peaceful and joyous school in this holiday season and all year-round!

Family Holiday Events around Milwaukee!
