Class “hints” - Biology

● Be OK with being not "knowing" the answer (at least for a while) - that is part of the inquiry process and part of "doing" science!

● Complete all of your assignments to the best of your ability. You will always have an opportunity to revise, so don't let missing work get in your way of success.

● Pay close attention to deadlines, requirements, and rubrics - your key to success depends on your attention to detail.

Class “hints” - Chinese

● Pay close attention to the teacher in class. It makes Chinese a lot easier for you to take notes and practice with the teacher in class.

● When studying for a quiz or a test, do not just look at the new words and think, "I got this!" Grab a pen to write and say those words again and again, to retain them in your memory. Repetition is the key to foreign language learning.

● Don't have missing assignments. A student has never failed World History because they “couldn't do the work.”

● Talk with me if you're having problems and I will help you with the material, but if you turn in your assignments complete and on time you will do well.

● Late assignments are better than not turning anything in.

● If you set up an account last year, the school cannot reset your account, username or password

● If needed, click the button that says “I lost my password” and you will receive a new password via email.

● All 10th grade students need GradeBook access in order to check their grades and be proactive if there are concerns.

Pilot - Learning Management System

● Students can access daily summary of class, including homework assignments, videos, handouts, etc.

● When students are absent, almost all work is available on Pilot

● During Plan E days, students need to access Pilot if they cannot log in to their classroom.
