Proposal Working Title: historical conflicts ‘War never Changes’ Product’s Purpose: to show viewer that battles have been fought across the centuries and that ‘war never changes’. This should be thought provoking. I want to use scenes from historical and modern battles to create an interesting combination image and show how war was fought then and now. I want to use battles or events that have real historical and social impacts to gain viewer attention as I want my viewer to understand that these battles took place in real life and that men died in the name of war. Genre: image. The image will be a combination image using both ancient and modern battle scenes. The final image will have an interesting & dramatic look to it. I will use images from films, historical pictures, video games and real life photographs. I want them all to either have some historical significance or be exciting, so I will choose large battles, lone heroic figures or interesting modern battle images. I will pick some actual photographs from the world wars and Vietnam war. Content: Conflicts and battles through history. I will include a message and meaning to give substance to the image or images. What I hope to show is that wars have been going on for thousands of years and that ‘war never changes’. The technology may change but wars continue to be fought all around the world for the same reasons. I am hoping to use a combination of ancient battle scenes and a modern battle scene fighting each other which I personally find an interesting concept. My final images will include :- All war never changes – 4slide image made up of Medieval battle, mushroom cloud and Vietnam war Helicopters. I used Rotoscope/filter gallery/ colour gradient & spray tool. War Never Ends - image made up of Medieval battle, mushroom cloud and Vietnam war Helicopters. I used Rotoscope/filter gallery/ colour gradient & spray tool black & white palette. War Never Ends 2 - image made up of Medieval battle, mushroom cloud and Vietnam war Helicopters. Audience: I feel that the image will probably appeal more to men due to its visual content as men tend to be more interested in war themes than women, but I think the concept that ‘war never changes’ will appeal to some women as they will probably buy into the idea of the futility of war. The style of the image however is very graphic and powerful which I think will appeal more to men.Anyone who is interested in Protest Art also those who are interested in contemporary art, current affairs, politics and people with those with a social conscience and those who so people who are in both socially conscious type A & B groups as the images will appeal to those who believe war is wrong but also people who think that war will always be part of life as people will always find things to fight about. The image I believe is for people who are of an age that can understand the concept and impact of war so not children below the age of 15 and up to 44 years this is due to its modern look and content. The social status can be anyone in ABC1 and C2DE groups who has access to the internet as all social groups should have an opinion on war. I think viewers will identify and empathise with the social message but also enjoy the escapism the mixed up images will provide so they will use the images for entertainment, Integration and Social Interaction.

Legal & Ethical Considerations: The content might be too complex for children, there is not a lot of offensive material younger but the concept of war may be too much for a young child to understand. The material will be constructed of battles that could never have happen due to being fought at different times so this shouldn’t upset anyone who had lost family in a modern war. I will also think very carefully before choosing which scenes to use.I will also have to consider the images that I use due to the project being made up of other people’s work and photographs as this could cause problems with publishing rights and copyright law so there is no copyright infringement and I don’t get sued. I will have to use images that do not have these restrictions.
