Extreme Long shot (Panoramic)

This shot is a Extreme long shot. An extreme long shot is a view from a greater distance in which people appear smaller and it shows much more of the location. An extreme long shot is generally used as a scene-setting establishing shot in movies, Tv programmes etc.

Long shot

A long shot is a shot in which shows the persons entire body. A long shot is usually used to show a character within its location, the long shot is a useful shot for showing movement and surroundings for example, in action films/programmes.

Mid-Shot

A mid-shot contains a figure from the knees/waist up and is normally used for dialogue scenes. A mid-shot is useful for showing body language and gesture and is also good for showing clothing, which is an aspect of Mise-en-scene.

Close-Up

A close-up shot shows very little background and mainly concentrates on the face. A close-up shot is useful for showing facial expression and the emotion of characters/objects. It also signifies how important the person/object is.

Extreme Close-up

An extreme close up is an extreme version of the close up shot. An extreme close up of a face would usually just show a specific part on the face and doesnt show anything in the background. A close-up shot can be used for a dramatic effect.

Two shots

Two shots is a shot which has two people in. Two shots are mainly used to show emotional reactions between the subjects or between the characters.

Point of view Shot

A point of view shot is used to for empathy of characters to the audience and puts the audience in the characters situation and makes them feel like they are actually in the same situation as the character

Over the Shoulder shot

An over the shoulder is often used to show the audience what the character is looking at and puts the audience in the characters place.

Birds eye angle

The birds-eye angle is a shot in which shows something directly overhead.

Low angle Shot

A low angle shot is taken from below, this makes the person/character look strong, powerful and tough

High angle Shot

Worms eye angle

The worms eye angle is always taken very low down. This makes the character look very tall and big in which this also makes them look powerful and strong
