Cultural DiversityCultural Diversity: The cultural variety and

cultural differences of a group, a organization, a religion, or the world. It is also called multiculturalism. Kinds of cultural diversity :

• Ethnic• Religion• Language• Traditions• Life style, etc.

In general, a multicultural society is formed when people from many different countries migrate to one place. One of the highest occupied by various ethnic world is Britain. Britain is a multicultural nation of around 70 million people from different cultural backgrounds. To this “value diversity” has been added ethnic diversity through two big waves of immigration: first, immigration from the West Indies and Asia in the 1950s and 1960s, followed by immigrants from Europe, Africa and the greater middle east in the late 1990s.

Different cultures have been influenced in many aspects of life. These aspects have been mixed with Britain knowledge of different cultural features.

LondonIn March 2011, London had an official population of 8,174,100, making it the most populous municipality in the European Union, and accounting for 12.5% of the UK population. The Greater London Urban Area is the second-largest in the EU with a population of 8,278,251, while the London metropolitan area is the largest in the EU with an estimated total population of between 12 million and 14 million. London had the largest population of any city in the world.

According to the Office for National Statistics, based on 2009 estimates, 69.7% of the 7,753,600 in habitants of London were White. with 59.5% White British, 2.2% White Irish and 8.0% classified as Other White.

Some 13.2% are of South Asian descent, with Indians making up 6.2% of London's population, followed by Pakistanis and Bangladesh is at 2.8% and 2.2% respectively. 2.0% are categorised as "Other Asian".

London has a diverse range of more than 300 languages are spoken within its boundaries. There are West Germanic language, Norman French, Greek, Latin, Welsh, Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Cornish, etc.

London is one of the major classical and popular music capitals of the world and is home to major music corporations, such as EMI, as well as countless bands, musicians and industry professionals. The city is also home to many orchestras and concert halls, such as the Barbican Arts Centre, Cadogan Hall, etc. London's two main opera houses are the Royal Opera House and the Coliseum Theatre. London has numerous venues for rock and pop concerts, including large arenas such as Earls Court, Wembley Arena and the O2 Arena, as well as many mid-sized venues, such as Brixton Academy, the Hammersmith Apollo and the Shepherd's Bush Empire.

MUSEUMS AND ART GALLERIES

London is home to many museums, galleries, and other institutions, many of which are free of admission charges and are major tourist attractions as well as playing a research role. The first of these to be established was the British Museum in Bloomsbury, in 1753. In South Kensington there are Three major national museums : the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum.

BRITISH FOODS British food has traditionally been based on beef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish and generally served with potatoes and one other vegetable. The most common and typical foods eaten in Britain include the sandwich, fish andchips, pies like the cornish pasty, trifle and roasts dinners. Some of our main dishes have strange names like Bubble & Squeak and Toad-in-the-Hole.

Britanian DANCES And Around the World

Britainian Dances :• A square dance : is a dance

for four couples (eight dancers) arranged in a square, with one couple on each side, facing the middle of the square.

• Social dance : is a major category or classification of dance forms or dance styles, where sociability and socializing are the primary focuses of the dancing.

• Baroque dance : is dance of the Baroque era (roughly 1600–1750), closely linked with Baroque music, theatre and opera.

DANCES AROUND THE WORLD

• Ballet Dance : is a type of performance dance, that originated in the Italian Renaissance. The early portions preceded the invention of the proscenium stage and were presented in large chambers with most of the audience seated on tiers or galleries on three sides of the dance floor.

• Pendet Dance : is a traditional dance from Bali, Indonesia, in which offerings are made to purify the temple or theater as a prelude to ceremonies or other dances. Pendet may be performed intermittently throughout the day and late into the night during temple feasts.The original Pendet dance is performed by 4-5 young girls (before their puberty) in temple yards. Pendet dancers bring flowers in small Bokor (silver bowls containing flowers in a ceremony). They spread the flowers around the temple. This dance is a symbol of welcoming God in some ritual ceremonies in Bali.

• Flamenco Dance : is a genre of Spanish music, song, and dance from Andalusia, in southern Spain. First mentioned in literature in 1774, the genre grew out of Andalusian and Romani music and dance styles.

• Bharatanatyam Dance : is a classical Indian dance form originating in the South Indian. Bharatanatyam is a traditional dance-form known for its grace, purity, tenderness, and sculpturesque poses. Today, it is one of the most popular and widely performed dance styles and is practiced by male and female dancers all over the world.
