Digital Citizenship for School Students – What to post and

What not to post on Online Platforms?

With rapid penetration of Internet in our lives, Online Safety and Privacy has become a

concern now, specially for School Children who are still exploring and learning about

these platforms. Thanks to all this, Digital Citizenship Awareness has become a global

phenomena now.

Knowing what to share is an important thing to know and often due to emotional

decisions, children posts content which shouldn’t be shared on the internet. Below

image states it perfectly.

Simple questions which children can ask themselves about if they should post a

picture or not can are:

1. Are all people whose picture is clicked are agreeing to make it shareable?

2. Will the picture cause any problem / drama to any of the person associated?

3. Will your mother or any relative be comfortable about sharing it?

Questions like this should be answered consciously by children before posting them and

parents should actively be involved in monitoring their activities.

It is duty of parents, schools and society as a whole to educate kids / children about

How Online Platforms should be used, how can they be useful and what are the

activities they must not do.

ToNewDigital is committed towards creating awareness about Digital Citizenship

globally and as a part of it, we have launched free Android Mobile App exclusively for

School Students which will through the help of Quizzes and interactive lessons will

educate them about Digital Citizen and also gauge their understanding about the

subject.
