specializes in studying rocks.Volcanoes- In Africa there is volcanic activity.● The Volcanic activity is caused by tectonic

plates.● The most active volcanoes are Mt.Ol'Doinyo

and Mt. Erta Ale.● There are over 60 mountains and active

volcanoes in East Africa

Petrology- Fossils are the remains of prehistoric organism that are preserved.● The two types of fossils are molded and

petrified.● There are remains of many animals in Africa.the fossils or animal remains left behind are monkeys,lions,hominids,dinosaurs,and modern day animals in Africa.a common place for fossils areOlduvai Gorge.

Erosion is the process of wearing away of rocks by wind,water,growing of plants,animals,and ice. ● There is many examples of erosion in africa

such as wind,animals,and water that break down rocks in the rift valley.
