In general The education system in Austria is

regulated by the federal government. Schools and curricula are

standardized nationwide.The Federal Ministry forEducation,

Arts and Culture is responsible for important tasks such as training teachers and maintaining of the schools.

attendence for all children living permanently in Austria . This begins with the completion of the sixth year. (September) and lasts for nine school years.

conditions).Attending a school located abroad (under certain conditions).

Austria is one of the few Western European countries that have a differentiated lower secondary school system (from eleven to fifteen).
