Evaluation activity 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Technologies I used

The main piece of technology I used was my Toshiba laptop.I used my laptop for all the editing process of my film, as well as pretty much all of my other work. And because its portable, it meant that I could do it anywhere.

My laptop made it easier to learn how to do different things as could use it to do research, or use the help functions.

This is the camera I used to film with. It’s a Sony Camcorder with built in hard drive, giving me more space to record in one go. I learnt how to set up different effects using the camera.

And this is the tripod I used. Not exactly technology, but was very important when it came to filming

To help me stay in contact with people in my film or to even just make some short notes or memos, I used both my Samsung Geanio and my iPod touch. Using these made it easier to arrange filming times.I learnt how to use a reminder application on both my iPod and phone that would automatically let me know when I needed to do something.

I used my memory for transferring files between different computers, as well as storing a backup in case my laptops battery died

I used my webcam during the evaluation, to allow me to do the directors commentary as I used it as a mic.

Programmes and Websites

I used a variety of different software and online websites during the making of my film.I used things like Facebook and YouTube, so I could upload my film and ask the opinion of others.

Then for editing I used both Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Premiere Elements as they both contain different effects that I could use

Adobe Premiere ElementsI learnt a variety of different editing techniques when using Adobe premiere elements.For example, I learnt how to use the blue screen key effect that would allow me to do the invisible cloak effect, which I used in my film, as well as how to add in other video clips on top of the main, and even how to create a lightsaber, which I thought was pretty cool.
