LEARN TOGETHER

• The number one goal of an FLC is to provide time and space for participant learning.

• Writing measurable outcomes and defining your participant learning goals is very important.

• Don’t get lost in the creation of artifacts…it’s a learning community, not a creating community.

10

CREATE DIGITAL

ARTIFACTS • Digital artifacts must connect to the FLC learning outcomes and will serve as resources to other educators.

• Some ideas:• Canvas, websites, or

audio/video/multimedia

• Project planning, policy, or partnership documents

• Insight papers

• Rubrics, student assessments, surveys, or data analysis

• online courses or programs

UNDERSTANDING THE

EVALUATION PROCESS

• The scoring rubric reflects the 2015-16 grant application questions.

• Consider doing a self evaluation or peer evaluation using the rubric before submitting your proposal.

• Applications will be read and scored by multiple reviewers.

See “Appendix B: Evaluation Criteria &

Rubric”

PRACTICE EVALUATION

ACTIVITY • In small groups, read sections 2A & 2B of the example grant application.

http://tinyurl.com/flcapplicationsample

• Use the 2015-16 scoring rubric to rate the strength of the goals / outcomes of this FLC.

• You may also find a quick review of the grant application questions to be useful here.

See “Appendix B: Evaluation Criteria &

Rubric”

See “Appendix A: Application Questions”

DRAFT YOUR OUTCOMES ACTIVITY • Write at least 2 outcomes for your

proposed FLC.

• Exchange drafts with a partner.

• Using the 2015-16 scoring rubric as a guide, offer meaningful feedback to your partner for how they might refine or revise their outcomes.

• If you finish early, begin discussing ways to assess your outcomes.

Rubric”
