Rules and conditions for provision of services

Bulgaria1 month to return the booksAnnual fee 1 Euro for students and 1.5 euro for students – unlimited number of books to be borrowedEncyclopedias cannot be borrowed. In case of damage or loss, students have to buy the book or pay it.

Hungary- Reference books placed in the reading space of the library (dictionaries, encyclopaedias), newspapers, magazines and periodicals are not available for borrowing- Deadline of returning the borrowed books is the last day of the term, as the latest- A maximum of five books per person can be borrowed at a time- Eating, drinking and using any material that might damage the library furniture and/or the books and computers is not allowed

The LOAN is required to be responsible for the library, which are transcribed in the register where the essential data of volume, to be affixed the signature column LOAN Each user can not lend at the same time more than three volumes.May be waived for justified reasons.The loan period is 30 days.In the case of real need and in the absence of reservations by other users, the loan may be renewed for another 30 days.Upon return, the applicant must affix his signature in the register in the column returns

RomaniaAll books are available for borrowing except for: encyclopedias, dictionaires, videos and CDs.The books can be borrowed for up to 14 days (if they are fiction books) and 3 days (if they are scientific books). After this period, if someone wants to keep them more, the borrowing has to be renewed for the same period of time.In case of damage or loss of books, borrowers will have to repair, buy the same book or pay for damage or loss.

Turkey It is forbidden to use mobile phones and to eat in library. It is forbidden to speak loud.

The school library in Orosháza, Hungary would like to improve the following: • the number of real library users (that is more and more of our students should

become conscious users of the library, using it for its main purposes like reading, searching for information, using the catalogue by themselves, and not just for surfing the Internet or photocopying, or reading only compulsory books). We already have a number of this kind of conscious library users, but we would like to have more.

• create digital databases (for example of earlier issues of local papers or other information of local relevance so that they can be searched online, or digital learning materials about any school subject so that they become available for anybody to use on a computer).

• create the possibility of a somewhat bigger and more independent library budget (so that the library can spend more on non-compulsory, mainly contemporary literature, both in Hungarian and in foreign languages, mainly English)

• Concerning our Library it would be useful to equip the room with more computer seats, shelves and books.

• Some curtain material to shadow the excess of light during spring time.

• Improving the taste for reading: author meetings, editor, journalist, illustrators meetings, teacher-parent sessions, reading contests, literary workshops, editing school magazines, albums, cartoons, reading groups, drama clubs, image reading, pictures inspired from literary works, reading techniques, little reporters’ club.

• Activities for the management of the documentary fund: updating and enriching the collections of books, activities of book reconditioning, book donations, space organizing, adapting the books according to students’ age groups, to their needs

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN OUR LIBRARY• Author events and book signings:

Many bookshops in Istanbul host author events and book signings. We wanted our students to join author events and book signings. After they met with writers and had a short interview with them, they presented writers and new books at the school library for their friends.

• Rhetoric and Poetics Workshop at library:

To encourage our students to write for contests which are orginized by Turkish National Education. Also, a book consists of students’s stories and poems will be printed out soon.
