Similarities between Frozen and Tangled

Film genres are basically categories of different types of movies. Genres such as

romance, musical, animated and science fiction are currently the highest on demand in the

entertainment world. Well, in my opinion, I will not deny that animated musical films are one

of my all-time favourite genres. This is because, music can really brighten up my day

whenever I am feeling blue. To grow up in an artistic family, I grew up learning to appreciate

the art of music. Thus, I would like to compare the similarities between two of my favourite

animated musical films which are "Frozen" and "Tangled". Both of these films are produced

by Walt Disney Animation Studios. These films have few similarities in their own uniqueness

which have wowed the audience.

Let's start off with the magical powers which both heroines have. In "Frozen", Elsa's

power is the ability to control ice. The story tells us that the king has inherited a curse which

has caused her to have the magical power. When she was young, she nearly killed her sister,

Anna while she was performing the some spell. After the incident, she shut herself away from

everyone and remain in her own room. She was then given a pair of white gloves to conceal

her powers from everyone including Anna. On the other hand, Rapunzel from "Tangled" has

long golden haired which can heal wounds and has the ability to make a person appear

younger. When she was a baby, she was kidnapped by an evil witch who then posed as her

"mother". Rapunzel was then raised in a tower in the middle of the forest.

Besides that, both movies portray element of love. Though they are varied in form,

they vividly project it. In "Frozen", Anna got struck by Elsa's power when they were having

an argument in the ice castle. When Anna was brought to see the troll king, Pabbie, she was

told that an act of true love can only break the curse. To be honest, the first thing in my mind

was also the "true love kiss" from Prince Hans who can only break the curse. But the plot has

twisted and it was actually Elsa who saved Anna. It was amazing to see how they finally

project the sisterly love in Disney movies. In "Tangled", it was about love between a princess

and a thief. It started off when Flynn stole the princess's crown from the palace. He then ran

into the forest and found a tower where Rapunzel was. They were first enemies. But as time

goes by, the love between them slowly builds up and they started liking each other.

Both "Frozen" and "Tangled" films have also shown the near-death experience. Anna

in "frozen" had became an ice sculpture when she saved Elsa. It was devastating to see Elsa

crying over her sister's death. But a miracles happened. When Elsa was hugging Anna, a

sudden glow of light appeared on Anna's chest. Slowly, her body became warm and she came

back to life. Meanwhile in "Tangled", Flynn Rider got stabbed by the evil "mother" witch.

Before Rapunzel could save him, Flynn immediately chopped off Rapunzel's magical hair to

save her first. But luckily, she managed to save him with her single tear which made Flynn

came back to life.

Last but not least, both of the films ended happily. In "Frozen", Elsa managed to stop

the snow in Arendelle. Anna and Elsa have finally reunited after the years of being ignored

by Elsa. They also promised to never close but always open the castle's gates from that day

onwards. Also, Anna and Kristoff were finally together and they lived happily ever after. On

the other hand, the movie "Tangled" ended with Rapunzel finally reunited with her royal

family and she became the princess in Corona. She and Flynn were together and they also

lived happily ever after.

In conclusion, "Frozen" and "Tangled" have few similarities in their own special

ways. They are by far one of the most interesting yet exciting movies which I have watched.

Not only I get to enjoy their music, I have also learnt a few important values which have

changed my perspective in life. Thus, animated musical genres will always in my top list.
