How:
• Increase access and equity to high quality resources
• Facilitate the teaching and learning process
• Provide timely and relevant information and data
Bringing it all together within a few clicks
Curriculum tools and resources, assessment, and PD (B3, C3, D5) linked to longitudinal data (C1) in the cloud (A2) to provide data to improve instruction and learning
NC IIS Components • Portals
• Dashboards and Analytics
• Instructional System and Content
• Assessment System and Content

Desired Outcomes of the NC IIS 1. Accurate and timely information about student
achievement in support of decision making at all levels
2. Parents and community members participating more fully in the learning process
3. Students assuming an active role in their own learning experience
4. Staff empowered to work cooperatively to increase student achievement, enhance productivity, and improve accountability
Desired Outcomes of the NC IIS (continued) 5. Student achievement linked with staff development
programs
6. Standards correlated to instructional practices, assessment strategies, and staff development programs
7. Gaps identified in instructional programs for adequacy of instructional resources, assessment items, and staff proficiencies
8. Ability to determine cost/benefit of instructional programs and learning resources
Work Completed • Reviewed/Identified existing systems and
resources
• Reviewed Cloud Survey Data
• Collected functional and technical requirements
– Stakeholder Input Sessions
• Shared and vetted draft functional and technical requirements
– IIS Stakeholder Meetings
– Presentations and Webinars
– IIS User Groups
– Multi-state Review Sessions
• Allowed vendors/other agencies to share IIS solutions
• Agreed to be a pilot state for the Shared Learning Infrastructure (SLI)
Shared Learning Infrastructure (SLI) • Use of Data Store
• Use of Multi-state Metadata Tagging Schema
• Access to Learning Data from Other States
• Access to Dynamic Learning Maps
