 A mountain range or mountain belt is a geographic area containing numerous geologically related mountains. The Himalayas is the highest mountain range on earth, its highest peak is Mount Everest.

The continental shelf is an underwater landmass which extends from a continent, resulting in an area of relatively shallow sea.
