Within the film industry magazines, along with posters, are one of the key marketing device in terms of promoting not only the film but the magazine brand as well, rendering their relationship as symbiotic in having the magazines such as 'Total Film' and 'Empire' exist purely off of the film industries existence while also having the magazines themselves boost the popularity and recognitions of films. For example, a common occurrence following a mainstream blockbuster film would be to have the magazine covers house style reformatted in terms of color and themed design while still maintaining the same recognizable font for their regular audience; shown in the 'Inception' example from Total film. While as stated earlier having the magazine exist to act as a promotional device for the film, the film also acts as a grabber to the potential reader, having the audience be drawn in by the Main image and Main cover

having the magazines themselves boost the popularity and recognitions of films. For example, a common occurrence

following a mainstream blockbuster film would be to have the magazine covers house style reformatted in terms of color and

themed design while still maintaining the same recognizable font for their regular audience; shown in the 'Inception' example from Total film. While as stated earlier having the magazine exist to act

as a promotional device for the film, the film also acts as a grabber to the potential reader, having the audience be drawn in by the Main image and Main cover line to then give the reader a taste of what could also be in the contents of the magazine from

the puffs and Buzzwords; ultimately attempting to have the magazine appear as insightful, exciting and almost mandatory for

any film fan to read in order to sell to as big of an audience as possible.

Due to Inception's popularity and having it as a major blockbuster this resulted in the Masthead's, 'Total Film' , interior to be redesigned to suite the themes and style presented in the film, while still keeping it's original

recognizable font. This consists of the birds eye view of buildings, as shown within the film ,as well as having the same design blend into the background

to a transparent blue, causing the Masthead to become increasingly predominant compared to the background and other buzzwords / puffs and

ultimatly having 'Total Film' and 'Inception' as the major eye catcher.

Having the main image as Leonardo Dicaprio not only emphasizing his protagonist role within the film but also seeing him as an iconic and popular

actor within the film industry, having his appearance alone attract a niche audience of his fans; for the film as well as the magazine.

With the main cover line being colored in a grandniece of gunmetal and gray causes the entire title to stand out significantly against the aqua background and other red titles. Further more, being placed in the center of not only the magazine cover but also in front of the main image, being dressed in black, only exemplifies it's eye catching purpose and effect; immediately drawing

the audiences attention to the title as well as the branded name of the film.

The slogan 'The mind blowing issue' links cleverly to the overall subject matter and themes of the film in terms of having

fabricated universes within peoples minds and dreams while also acting as an instant eye catcher for the audience, having 'mind

blowing' suggesting intriguing and informative content .

The Buzzword 'first look' implemented to have the reader feel as though they're looking upon never before seen and newly released news and content, attracting the audience to purchase the product

with the diverse amount of information the issue possesses

The lexical field of 'mind' used throughout the magazine cover cleverly linking all to the films theme and plot line, having the themed especially for Inception because of it's popularity and well received reception. By also including

words such as 'ever' and 'meet the master' peaks curiosity as differing opinions of 'the 27 most mind-blowing movies

ever!' may be different as well as the 'master of mind flicks'
