Here is a general layout of what my front cover will look like. The colours that I have chosen so far are not definite and some of the captioning might change.

The important things to keep in mind are the size of the image, the size of the font, what font to use, the pricing of the magazine, what image to use (close up, high key lighting, posture, facial expression) and different colours to use (font or just general layout colours)

Your magazine!

The captions I have chosen I think are appropriate and corresponds with the main theme of the magazine. Everyone wants to be the head of the class, to earn the best grades they can and making new friends. Even though these captions are the most controversial ones, each student can affiliate themselves with at least one of the captions, making it eye catching so they can pick up and read the magazine

Example image to use for my magazine cover (medium long shot)

I have chosen an image like this to go with the content of my magazine cover because it fits well. The cover line for my magazine is “new beginnings” and a photo like this would best associate with that title. You can see the “open evening” sign in the background meaning that the new students are ready to start a new year. “School Lyfe” is the masthead of my magazine. I considered this title since I would be aiming it at students and I thought to myself how to best attract them. It has a phonetic spelling of “Lyfe” and I knew this would be a acceptable way to be eye catching because students nowadays have developed their own way of talking (slang) and what better way to gain popularity by interacting with your target audience.
