• Christmas is the time of the year when cristians all over the world celebrate the birth of Jesus.

WHAT IS CHRISTMAS?• Christmas is a party when you share time

with all your family and have dinner all together. You can also call it Xmas.

• People around the world celebrate Christmas in a different way.

• In Spain we have some traditions that I am going to explain.

• I will also explain some traditions in the USA where I was born.

• Everything starts with Christmas lottery: You can win “el gordo” on december 22nd.

• Put the Nativity Scene.• People in Spain eat at Christmas.

Eve something very typical: Nougat.

• In Spain we celebrate Christmas Eve more than the other holidays. It´s a very familiar celebration.

• On New years Eve people eat 12 grapes.

• Children´s day is 6th January. We call it :Three Wise Men day. We receive presents and we eat “Roscón de reyes” with a little surprise inside it.

• Everything starts with the lighting of the Christmas tree at the White House.

• Christmas day is more important than Christmas Eve.

• Christmas tree decoration party .All the family together decorates a Christmas tree.

• They put Christmas Stockings at the chimeney.

• Santa Claus brings presents. They open them on Xmas. Day.

• People bake Christmas cookies and go to the Christmas Parade.

• They celebrate New years Eve at Times Square in New York
