“Leisure”“Leisure”
LeisureWhat is this life if full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughsAnd stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see when woods we passWhere squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see in broad daylightStreams full of stars like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glanceAnd watch her feet how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth canEnrich that smile her eyes began
A poor life this, if full of careWe have no time to stand and stare
Paraphrase If our life is so busy, full of cares and problems
and we cannot watch, think of and enjoy the beauty of nature around us, we will have a poor life.
We must find time to look at all the wonders that God has created for us.
