The film industry

The film is based on a teen who grew up in the slums in Mumbai. He becomes a contestant on the Indian version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?“.

He is arrested under suspicion of cheating as he knew all the answers and wasn’t educated. While being interrogated, events from his life history are shown which explain why he knows the answers.

Showed trailers on Film 4 and channel 4, as these companies were behind the creation of the film, they then expanded their target audience by trailers on Sky, ITV and famous channels.

They also had other marketing such as posters, websites, billboards, interviews and internet advertisements.

The film had a small budget  of $15 million. Production companies involved and movies

they have produced:-Pathe – Trance, the illusionist, two brothers-Warner Bros. Entertainment- The hobbit,

the hangover, happy feet-Film4 productions and Celador- 127 hours,

east is east, dead man’s shoes and many more film.

-Fox Searchlight pictures- Black swan, bend it like Beckham, little miss sunshine

2. Production

 Warner Independent Pictures acquired the North American rights, but as they shut down, this was transferred to Warner Bros.

Pathe acquired the international rights to distribute Slumdog Millionaire theatrically

It has been released in Australia,  North America,  Europe, India and Asia-Pacific.

3. Distribution

Slumdog millionaire made $337,417,293 at the box office.

The number of how much money Slumdog millionaire made is still increasing to this day, as people are still purchasing the movie in the many forms available, such as:

Internet downloads Blu-ray internet download and sky box office Available to download on the Film4 website Soundtracks

4. Exhibition

Slumdog millionaire had vertical integration as it has a parent company that owns multiple companies across different stages of the film industry.

Slumdog Millionaires Production Company is not a subsidiary of a larger company as it has one production company that produced the movie.

There are no signs of horizontal integration between Slumdog millionaire's production company and distributor as they have production distribution and exhibition.
