Trick or Treating On Halloween,

some children go trick-or-treating. It can be a lot of fun to dress up in a costume and go from house to house.

If I go trick-or-treating with other kids, we will probably run up to each house all together.

Ringing the Doorbell Sometimes I will

get to ring the doorbell.

Sometimes another kid will get to.

Giving other kids a chance to ring the doorbell shows that I want them to have fun, too!

Here are my steps for trick-or-treating.1. One of us rings

the doorbell.2. When someone

answers, I will– Look at their

face– Smile, – Say “Trick-or-

Treat!”

Trick or Treat!

Being Friendly People who

answer the door may say something to me. They may even pretend to be afraid of me.

Theyre just trying to be friendly, which is really nice of them.

Ooh, a ghost!I’m scared!

Friendly Answers This is how I’ll

be nice back:

– If someone asks me a question, I will answer it politely.

What are yousupposed to be?

I’m a ghost!

Friendly Answers– If she says

something about my costume, I will smile or say something nice in return.

Great costume!

Thanks!

Friendly Answers

– If someone says something I don’t understand, I can just smile.

Ooh, lookslike a

sinister specter!

Different People Give Out Treats in Different Ways. That’s okay.

Here’s what I will do: – If they hold out

a bowl of candy to me, I will quickly choose only one piece (unless they tell me to take more.)

Getting Candy

If they hold out a treat, I will open my Halloween bag and let them drop it in.

Getting Candy If they ask me

which kind of treat I want, I will answer them quickly and say “please.”

(If I can’t decide, I

can say “Could you pick for me?”)

The Hersheybar, please!

Which kind wouldyou like?

Don’t Forget to Say Thanks! After I get the

treat, I will say “Thank you.” That makes grownups feel happy.

I can also say “Happy Halloween,” if I want to.

Then I will leave for the next house

Thank you!!Happy Halloween!

Let Mom or Dad Check I will not eat any

treats until my parents have checked them and said they’re okay.

Trick or Treating can be lots of fun! Especially now that I know what to expect!
