Cover Page

This is the basic plan layout that I started with in Photoshop, the shapes that are present act as placeholders and allow me to gain an idea of how the layout might work

Cover Page

Here I have decided upon the image that I wanted on the cover, I then put it into a document and added a graded background. I have also added some text which I plan to use on my final product

Cover Page

This was my first final draft, however I decided against it as I did not like the layout as seems a bit simplistic, and when I showed it to people they didn’t seem to like it an they said that the text was too large

Finished Cover Page

With my final product I took my audience feedback into account and made the text smaller and more compact, I also added more secondary articles on both sides of the pageI also changed the text of my masthead as when I asked people about it, I received negative feedback so changed it to a more simple text, so that it would be more appealing to my audience

Contents Page

Like my cover page, I started with a basic layout, which consisted with three columns which would dictate the layout of the pageI added the mast head and started by making the different sections using the shape tools to create the background for each section

Contents Page

Once I got the majority of my sections on the page, I got rid of thr columns and replaced it with a plain white backgroundI have also got the main image into place and added a brief paragraph to go with it

During the process of making my contents page, I received some feedback on my layout, which stated that it was too wordy and that it needed more picturesFollowing this I altered the main image so that I could create space in the middle of the page, which I can use to put more pictures and articles in

Finished Contents Page

This is my final piece which includes a lot more pictures, which I did because of the information I got from my audience feedbackI got rid of the wordy paragraph that went with my main picture

Double page spread

How I started my double page spread was to implement the columns which I had used for the contents, to establish the start of my layoutI also put the picture that I had chosen into the document so that I would know what I had to work with and how I should organise the text around the image

Double page spread

Here I have implanted a colourful background for the image, I did this to make the image stand out and be more eye catching to the readerI have also started to write up the article which will be on my double page spread. I have arranged the text into three columns which gives my magazine an organised structure and it makes it so that I can use the space I have efficiently

Finished Double Page Spread

This is my finished product, I added the design behind the artists name to make it standout I included a pull quote within the middle of the article as it is a convention of music magazines and it also serves to break up the solid block of text into more manageable chinks of text.
