ENGINEERING ISSUES AND CHALLENGES
Emerging issues, challenges and
opportunities for engineering relate to internal and external
factors. Internally, the decline of
interest and enrolment of
young people, especially women in
engineering is a major
concern for future
capacity.
Externally, It relate to the Millennium
Development Goals,
especially poverty
reduction and increasingly to
climate change and adaptation.

TRANSFORMATION OF ENGINEERING EDUCATION
1• Investing heavily in basic
infrastructure, which served as a foundation for technological learning.
2
• Nurturing the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, which required the development of local operational, repair and maintenance expertise.
3
• Govt. supported funded and nurtured higher education institutions, academies of engineering and technological sciences.

IS THERE A NEED FOR CHANGES
Yes, would be the most common answer. However, if we start counting the no. of institutions that have really changed to a new institutional model, these will only present a very low percentage of the total no. of engineering education institutions. Engineering education is a foundation for the development of society.

CONCLUSION
Present day engineeringEducation
has became
technical and hence better than past times.
Craze of other fields of education
has been decreased.
Most of the students and faculties are
against reservation
quota system.
There is a need of
technical tours.
Govt. and companies
should improve working
conditions and
provide adequate
salary.
Regularly the quality and no. of research activities
have increased in India, but there
is room for more
improvement.gh
