IMPACT OF SELECTIVE SURFACE ON PERFARMANCE OF SOLAR THERMAL SYSTEM

ABSTRACT
In order to overcome the current energy challenges and to find new ways of producing clean energy, the solar sector is focused on improving its performance and defining the adequate technology for each application. Nowadays the solar power which uses solar stills, is the most nature and well-established concept. The technology is based on the concentration of solar radiation and focusing the collected energy on a receiver tray. Solar selective coatings are applied on the surface of the receiver tray surface to improve its performance in stable conditions, but these coatings suffer stresses during their operating lives, which reduce their optical properties and increase the cost of the produced energy. In this study it has been analyzed the impact of selective surface coating in the energy gain and thermal losses.
OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKTo design & develop a water distillation system that
can purify brackish water from nearly any source, a
system that is relatively cheap & depends only on
renewable solar energy.
Through this project improving the design of a
subsequent influence on productivity is proposed to be
studied.
PRINCIPLES OF CORROSION
Corrosion is the disintegration of an engineered material into its constituent atom due to chemical reactions with its surroundings. In the most common use of the word, this means electrochemical oxidation of metals in reaction with an oxidant such as O2.
