Fall 2015Come See Why Over

2 Million Families Choose Kindermusik!

Come See Why Over

In Kindermusik classes, the instructor leads a group of parents and their children through joyful activities, using music and movement. Parents learn more about their child’s unique developmental process, and the shared learning experience creates a bond as the child associates learning with fun, musical play. Sign language

is incorporated into each of the classes. Material fees are paid to the instructor at the rst class. This fee is in addition to the program fee. Registration deadline is two days prior to the start of each session.

Kindermusik Our TimeThe key element to Kindermusik Our Time is the use of developmentally appropriate guidelines. Children learn through interaction with materials, adults, other children and their environmental space. Exploration Time encourages your child’s discovery of instruments, textures, sounds and movement. The anticipation and rewards of listening are introduced, and with turn-taking activities, social skills blossom. This class prepares your child for the independence of pre-school (12 week session). Wiggles & Giggles: is all about movement (wiggles!) and fun, funny words and sounds, and emotion (giggles!). There is a strong connection in this semester to the Our Time theme of bound away and back. The songs are about humor, laughter, silly sounds and words, and movement. The child is going back and forth between being independent and wanting mommy and daddy. Everyday activities like bath time are highlighted in the delightful book ‘Pete and PJ’ from the Kindermusik library. Ages: 2 - 3.5yrs. oldCode: Days: Dates: Times: Reg. Kindermusik Imagine That! This class is designed for children to attend without an adult for about 30-35 minutes and then parents/caregivers and siblings join the class for the last 10-15 minutes for sharing time. Within the weekly lessons and at home, your preschooler’s unique affinity to learn through pretend play is the foundation to this musical curriculum.

See What I Saw: Books, storytelling, language, drama, puppets - these are all essential ingredients to the Imagine That! curriculum. Each acts as a dramatic catalyst for integrating thematic songs, activities, events, and feelings. In See What I Saw, you will enjoy the many wonders of a trip to Grasshopper Park. The music represents a variety of different cultures with songs from Ghana, Latin America, Greece, and France. You will find some favorites including “Ha Ha This-a-Way,” “Jim Along Josie,” and “Mr. Sun,” “A Tisket, A Tasket,” “Shoo-Fly,” “and AlleeGalloo.” There are also many new, original compositions like the chant “Everything is Just Fine.”

Kindermusik Village(Newborn to 2yrs. old - lap babies, crawlers and toddlers)The children in this age group are changing more rapidly than

at any other time in their development. Two key elements to Kindermusik Village are variety and repetition. Home activities help involve and educate the parent about the importance of baby’s musical learning and reinforce concepts learned in class. Village introduces multiple levels of activities appropriate for the different stages of development in this age range. Relaxation and social times are built into the 45-minute lesson to meet adult needs. There are two curricula for Village. Each curricula will last 6 weeks (12 week session).

Feathers: Introduces Baby and Parent/Caregiver to the musical poems of Woody Guthrie, bird songs, and the naturally occurring sounds in nature help babies develop an early appreciation—and accelerated aptitude—for language, movement, and music in this class. Both jazz and classical selections, a Yiddish folk song, a Muskogean melody, and Mother Goose rhymes set to music are just a few of the colorful and exciting pieces introduced in this curriculum. Home Materials: CD with over 25 specially-selected recordings from class, Kindermusik chime ball, a colorful picture book of birds—Feathers, and a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy. (6 weeks)

Do-Si-Do: Stimulates a wonderfully unique experience of rhythm and movement for Baby and Parent/Caregiver. Pick up your baby and dance. Dance the Charleston, the Tango, and the Cha-Cha and learn why dancing with your baby helps develop vital learning skills—from head-to-toe. In this class, play a variety of baby appropriate instruments and a dance with fun props. Home Materials: CD with songs from class, Kindermusik egg shaker and scarf, a picture board book—Do-Si-Do—with lilting move-to-it rhyming text and a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy. Young Rembrandts | Fall(5 - 12 yrs. old)

The fall season is one of the most colorful times of the year. In this Young Rembrandts drawing class, we’ll capture all of those beautiful colors and more in our fabulous drawings. Our rainbow giraffe seemingly captures the entire spectrum of colors in a very stylized drawing. A fun drawing of cartoon worms and apples will teach our students how to properly color with colored pencils. We’ll also take an imaginary journey to Paris as we draw the famous Eiffel Tower. Finally, a creepy drawing of a haunted house captures the fun spirit of the season. We’ll also take a look at master artist Peter Max as we try to emulate his style.
