  2. 2. Why are you Single? You just found out that the woman sitting with you is single and you ask, Why are you single? You are so (pretty, smart, funny, hot). Trust me, the single woman has heard it. She knows and more than likely has been told that she is pretty, smart, funny, hot or any combination of those things. The question sets a negative tone.
  3. 3. Dont you want kids? You are discussing dating with your single friend and you ask, Dont you want kids? If she does want kids, congratulations you just got her thinking about something that probably weighs heavily on her. If she does not, how is she supposed to answer that question without negative judgment or having to go into a lengthy explanation?
  4. 4. You work too much! Your single friend is discussing her overwhelming workload and you say, you work too much. She has to - she only has herself to rely on!
  5. 5. Do you really want to be a step-mom? You discover your single friend is dating someone who has children and you ask, Do you really want to be a step-mom? Talk about jumping the gun. They are just dating. That statement is negative and being a step-parent can truly be amazing!
  6. 6. Reciting depressing statistics Reciting any stat or referring to anything that you read regarding how hard it is to find a life partner or get pregnant after a certain age. Trust me she already knows! Besides, 78.6% of all statistics are made up! Sarah E.
