5 Tips and Tricks for
Change Management
1. Start Early (Now!)
• Be Proactive, timely and consistent
• Drive enthusiasm and engagement
• Build it into the current strategic direction and
plan
• Take feedback
2. Be Structured
• Be aware of the phases of change management
• Don’t “reinvent the wheel” – what worked last
time?
• Build credibility by doing proper research
3. Be Customised
• Design an approach for each member, in each
role, in each LC
• Know who you want to know what so they can
make what happen
• Targeted and focused ;)
4. Use your influencers
• Who has direct contact with the membership –
make sure they are on board!
• Use MCP/LCP/Alumni to reinforce the change
• Showcase GCPs, publically celebrate LCs
adapting faster, promote benefits of change
5. Remember the Individual
Always think – what does the individual member need to make this change simple and easy?
• Awareness “I know why we need to change”
• Desire “I decide to actively support the change”
• Knowledge “I know how to make the change and what happens next”
• Ability “I have the skills and behaviours to make the change happen”
• Reinforcement “I know the change will be sustained”

• What– Implementation timeline – 2 to 4 weeks – Clear action steps and accountables– Tracking
