Celebrating all things heart, residents and team members participated in National Wear Red Day®. For another heart-filled event, everyone savored extra-sweet flavors at the Chocolate Extravaganza. The Touchmark Dining Services team created a variety of rich desserts with one thing in common: chocolate! Jay Heinz provided entertainment for the event, and later the Bismarck State College men’s chorus performed.

Tuesday, March 4 Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The famous children’s author’s birthday is March 2. We will mark the occasion by participating in the VoiceBook Project, which aims to link generations, especially across distances. What do you do? Bring a children’s book to Touchmark. We’ll record you reading the book and then send the recording to a child of your choice. Please RSVP by March 1.

Friday, March 7, 2 pm A Touch of Health. Aaron Johnson, DMD, with the Smile Center will share ways people can keep their teeth healthy as they grow older.

Wednesday, March 12 Lunch out to China Garden. Sign up at the front desk and bring a friend. Please bring money for lunch.

Saturday, March 15, Outing to the Bismarck Mandan Symphony. Cost is $25 per ticket. Sign up by or before March 7.

Monday, March 17, 3 pm St. Patrick’s Day Dance. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’re setting up the dance floor and kicking up our heels! The Don Geiger Band will perform, and we’ll serve appetizers and green beer. Please RSVP by March 14.

The next session of Exercise for Life starts Tuesday, March 4. The class is designed to help slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders. Meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:50 to 2:50 pm, the class will run six weeks. The cost is $30 for club members, and $60 for others. If you are interested or have any questions, please call 701-355-1280.

Do you feel like you have tight muscles? Would you like to be more flexible? Yoga is now offered at 6 am, 8 am, and 3:45 pm Mondays and Wednesdays.

New Boot Camp starting! This new weight room circuit boot camp will help you get stronger, more flexible, and in better

cardiovascular condition. Cost is only $50 per month in addition to membership, and you will get eight great workouts. If you have questions or want to sign up, please call the club at 701-355-1280.

Everyone gathered for a pregame Super Bowl party at Touchmark. The Dining Services team prepared spread of appetizers and game-day munchies. As the game began, people picked a team to cheer and sat in the official team section.

Do you like to walk? March marks the beginning of the Touchmark Mall Walking group. The first and third Wednesdays of each month, the group gathers in the lobby and leaves at 10 am to walk the Kirkwood Mall.

All members will receive a pedometer and will have a chance to log their distances.
