IT Certification is viewed as recognition of technical (and sales) competence; is a mark of professionalism

Mastery Skill exams► IBM’s Low stakes exams, based exclusively on questions lifted form one or more specified

courses. No experience with the subject is assumed or validated.

Examples of Certifications► Certified standards for professionals in medicine, education, architecture, law, engineering,

and accounting have long been established and recognized. ► IT Certifications have been around for 20 years, beginning with Novell’s CNE program

Solution Specialty is used by IBM to identify, at a Firm level, a collection of skills present at that firm. e.g., Cloud Computing, Power, system x, Storage, etc.
