Texts come out of the blue every day, and when they are sent you don’t know what the recipient is up to; possibly heading into a meeting, writing an exam, or even still sleeping.

It is a cop-out, trying to avoid confrontation. The person who is getting dumped will want to talk about it…they deserve that much, so just have the conversation.

Breaking up is never easy to do. However, the most basic human relationships deserve respect, even when it is over. No one should ever drag it out, it just makes things worse.

And when you do have to do the break up, face to face honesty is key, because if you lie it leaves the other person asking a million questions, which only prolongs the situation.

Lastly, time and distance is key both in the online world and in the real world. When a relationship ends, it will take time to get over everything that has happened. Don’t call or text, allow the other person to heal and move on with their life.
