1 ThenIsawanangelcomingdownfromheaven,havingthekeytothebottomlesspitandagreatchaininhishand.
2 Helaidholdofthedragon,thatserpentofold,whoisthe DevilandSatan,andboundhimforathousandyears;3 andhecasthimintothebottomlesspit,andshuthimup,andsetasealonhim,sothatheshoulddeceivethenationsnomoretillthethousandyearswerefinished.Butafterthesethingshemustbereleasedforalittlewhile.
4 AndIsawthrones,andtheysatonthem,andjudgmentwascommittedtothem.ThenIsawthesoulsofthosewhohadbeenbeheadedfortheirwitnesstoJesusandforthewordofGod,whohadnotworshipedthebeastorhisimage,andhadnotreceivedhis markontheirforeheadsorontheirhands.AndtheylivedandreignedwithChristforathousandyears.5 Buttherestofthedeaddidnotliveagainuntilthethousandyearswerefinished.Thisis thefirstresurrection.
6 Blessedandholyis hewhohaspartinthefirstresurrection.Oversuchtheseconddeathhasnopower,buttheyshallbepriestsofGodandofChrist,andshallreignwithHimathousandyears.7 Nowwhenthethousandyearshaveexpired,Satanwillbereleasedfromhisprison
