Hebrews 9:6-12

• 6. Now these things having been thus prepared, the priests go in continually into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the services;

• 7. but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offereth for himself, and for the errors of the people:

Our Priesthood

• We are living stones in a spiritual house (temple?)

• We are a holy priesthood

• We are to offer up spiritual sacrifices

God’s presence among His people

13. Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

14. as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance:

15. but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living;

16. because it is written, Ye shall be holy; for I am holy.

thereof of brass, whereat to wash. And thou shalt put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

20. when they go into the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

21. So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.

Entrance• Only the priests, holy men

appointed by God could enter the courtyard to serve

• The first thing they approach is the ALTAR of sacrifice

• Before entering the Holy Place the priest had to wash in the LAVER

The Picture• Before entering the tabernacle

as a priest of God today, the Christian must first pass by the cross (Faith) and then wash (Baptism).

• Then the Christian enters into the presence of God to serve continually.

• The Christian never leaves the tabernacle

The True Tabernacle• Heaven itself, access to the

very presence of God• The veil has been torn and

there is NO longer anything separating the priest from God

• We have access through Jesus to everything we need to live and serve before God

Living in the Presence of God

Hebrews 4:11-13 11. Let us therefore give diligence to enter into

that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

12. For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13. And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Holy Living
