“Performance Analysis is a key functional tool for providing the coach

with information about a team and/or individual performance. The

feedback then made available to the players can be relevant, accurate and

objective rather than unreliable and subjective”

Ian Franks, 1996

Page 3: Performance analysis presentation

Essentially Performance Analysis is about creating

a valid and reliable record of performance by

means of systematic observations that can be

analysed with a view to facilitating change.

THIS IS NOT A TOOL OF BLAME!

The Philosophy Behind Performance Analysis...

•Pick out Positives.

•Pick out Negatives.

•Find an Even Balance.

•Find a Re-occuring Problem.

•Work on the Problem in Training.

•Remember this is a Tool for Educating and Coaching!

Page 7: Performance analysis presentation

The Systems used...

•PROZONE

•Player tracking service produces detailed data of every move, touch and kick that occurs.

•Not real time feedback.

Page 8: Performance analysis presentation

The Systems used...

•Sportscode and Focus X2

•Real time feedback

•Tailored to specific needs of each individual team

•Useful statistics

•Gives the manager the opportunity to look at things while the game is going on, or at half time.

Page 9: Performance analysis presentation

The Systems used...

•Dartfish

•A detailed analysis of technique.

•By improving technique early, will make for a better all round player in the future.

•Works alongside physios, fitness coach and podiatrist, who will look at biomechanics of the feet and ankles.

Page 10: Performance analysis presentation

Training ground culture

•Working as a TEAM & an INDIVIDUAL is very important

•Do NOT talk about things or share an opinion about somebody or something that does not concern yourself

•Listen to your supervisor and do whatever they ask for

•Working hours not neccessarily the normal 9-5. Depending on work load. MUST be finished for the

coach to view before the match day

Page 11: Performance analysis presentation

•Relaxed working atmosphere

•Must always be on track with work and getting all done

•Prioritising the most important, immediate work first

•Work quickly and to a very high standard

•Completing requests from all players and staff if anything is required
