Hi there! We are the 72 French students involved in the Quest for the European

Grail.All of us cannot be with you tonight but we’re glad to take part in this project! Through this diaporama, we want to tell

you more about ourselves...

Who was Marcel Gimond?

“Art is the only UNIVERSAL language that, beyond the borders, can unite those for whom nothing HUMAN is foreign.” Marcel GIMOND

He was a famous sculptor from a small town in the Ardèche.He was awarded the Fine Arts National Prize in 1957 and is regarded as the last portraitist of the 20th century in France.

More than half of us come from Vals les Bains

or Aubenas.

The others come from several small towns

and villages in the area of Aubenas.

Where do we come from?

Our hobbies…

• Several students are musicians or singers!

• Some of us are comedians or poets!

• Some others study cinema at school and would like to become directors!

Do you like sport?

We love it!

Our sport teachers propose many activities : handball, volley-ball, basket-ball, body building, fighting, running, climbing, dancing, badminton, etc…

On Wednesdays, there are outdoor activities such as cross-country, skiing, mountain-bike, orienteering, canoeing, and running.

Local Activities

Or visiting the Chauvet Cave? It’s full of beautiful prehistoric paintings.

How about canoeing in the Gorges of the Ardèche and see the beautiful site of the Pont d’Arc?

And if you like snow, let’s go skiing in winter and get very good sensations !

Would you rather take part in an historic visit of several villages in the Ardèche?

Gastronomy in the Ardèche…

With chestnuts we make several specialities:-Chestnut soup-Chestnut cake-Chestnut ice-Chestnut bread-Chestnut floor-Col’Ardeche (Local coca cola)

Our goat cheese is very popular

One of our famous wines:

Chardonnay

Our famous Vals sparkling water from a mineral and hot spring

Our Marquisette is a mix of fizzy wine, fruits and lemon
