ABSTRACT

Endangered species are animals that are extremely close to dying off and having nothing left of their race. There are four major details that play a role in pushing animals into extinction are habitat loss, hunting, climate change and disease. Habitat loss is the biggest factor in losing animals and any living thing because humans cut down or destroy their homes thus killing the animal, taking away their shelter and making them travel for their foods since their prey is gone or destroyed from taking the habitat. Hunting these endangered species for the fur or other special qualities is done because the animal has become rare, therefore; the dollar amount of the items given from the animal sky rocket. Climate change is a problem that humans have the least amount of control towards and have destroyed the biomes or these animals. With this problem the animal’s area of living is declining and so is the ability to live in this change in temperature. Disease is both uncontrollable and at fault by humans because of pollution and garage destruction. With the animals eating bottle caps, lighters and other items that cannot be digested by human laziness but disease within the animal race is hard to kill off because the animals live in very close range of each other and eat the same items causing spreading to be very easy. Needless to say, us as a team need to change our ways and perform better for the animals who we gave no choice too.

BACKGROUND

An organism that on the verge of being extinct

A wipeout of the same specie from human causes or human related causes

Usually the organism lives within so many miles of itself and have adapted to that environment

Laws have been set up to save these animals from dying off or being killed

BACKGROUND

Many species were found to be extinct before they were even discovered

The current rate of extinction is much greater than the expected natural rate; therefore, how one species becomes endangered

“Current estimates suggest that a third of the world’s amphibians, a quarter of all mammals and one in eight birds are endangered.”

Factors include: habitat loss, hunting, disease or climate change

HABITAT LOSS

Habitat loss greatest factor is destruction by humans for human consumption

Many natural destructions happen too: floods, wild fires and droughts

Three major types of habitat loss: destruction, fragmentation, degradation.

These ways are all for human needs and we do these to benefit ourselves without thinking of the animals.

People need to have better information about reserve cores

HUNTING

Humans hunt animals for meats, bones and rare materials

The animals mostly become endangered due to over hunting and killing the animals for fashion purposes

The rareness of the animal makes the price of its items much higher and in higher demand, thus making it a bigger sport

There are rules set for endangered species where they cannot be killed purposely because they are on the verge of extinction

CLIMATE CHANGE

Animals must learn to adapt to the quickly escalating changes in climate

Must be able to get used to long, dry summers and changes in rainfall patterns

These changes not only effective by weather but also by different offspring times and growing ranges and can truly decline the range of the animals livable land

There will be a huge amount of migration and now animals that never had to migrate will have to learn how and may have trouble finding new homes livable for them.

DISEASE

Disease may be something we cannot control, but we mostly like give it to them by pollution

Also, loss of biodiversity plays a big role because they are so close to their neighbors

There are diseases that not only affect the animals but humans as well which makes it spread faster than just in animals.

When a prey animal is contaminated with the disease and a predator comes and eats it, the disease is passed on
