Course Goals• Topical

• Knowledge Representation 101 (what are ontologies, how to create them?)

• Learn about the most important knowledge sources and how to use them

• Learn about interplay of knowledge representation and other data sources

• Learn how knowledge is contained in different media and how to extract it

• Cases: Linked Open Data, WordNet, Serious Gaming, Natural Language Processing, Cultural Heritage.

• Academic Skills

• Learn to see the essence of a topic or problem.

• Learn to summarize and formulate this essence.

• Learn how to see beyond individual topics, find connections, and apply solutions in other situations
