What kind of media institution might distribute your media

• I feel as though the best media institutions to distribute my media product is through TV adverts and through a print in the chosen sport (a biking magazine) that I’m focussing on.

• Through a TV advert, which targets a wide range of audience (depending on the channel the advert is played on). If my advert is played on a big channel, such as ITV –showed at around the evening mark of 5pm-7pm, I feel my product will get a lot of attention, due to it being a popular viewing time.

• TV is one of the biggest media institutions and firms compete to get the perfect slot during the day to promote their adverts. For this reason I feel this institution will give me the best promotion for my product than any other media institute. It may be beneficial to advertise my product on the major channels, such as ITV, BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4 and Channel 5, to begin with, this will help to promote my product. Then I think it would be beneficial to then advertise it on the sport channels, which then attracts the specific audience who have interests in various or one sport. This documentary may encourage my specific audience to try this sport as well as encourage them to watch my product to understand the sport more.

• Another Media institute that may be suitable for my media product is an advert inside the chosen sport magazine. Each sport has a dedicated magazine and my topic, mountain biking, does have dedicated magazine’s –these are the two that I feel will attract my magazine. What Mountain Bike and Mountain Biking UK. These two magazine’s both offer the same product. Which is reviewing the best bike to ride, the best course/places of recommendation as well as articles on the downhill mountain biking series, such as the Red Bull events I am choosing to coverage.

• I feel this will also give advertisement to my media product, but personally I don’t think it will receive as much attention as a TV advert will receive. This is because in the modern age TV has now become so popular, people choose to ignore magazines as it’s ‘effort’, costs unnecessary money where they have adverts for free on TV.
