This cover of The Eye inspired me for the main storyline of a gig or rave.

Initial layout idea with a selection of different possible fonts that could have been used in the masthead.

Having decided a font I added a slogo and main cover story

Using colour to make the masthead more obvious. Added pull quotes. Main storyline should have been in the left third, but it wouldn’t work with the picture

I changed the text to white to make it more readable

Initial layout for the contents page. The use of the blue circles helps bring out a consistent style as it ties in with the colour block on the front and the bulb behind the masthead

Adding the main stories and page numbers to make up the contents page

Putting more text in using the Photoshop text option to give more details to the stories and make them more appealing to potential readers.

Adding pictures to tie in with some of the main stories. I also pout numbers on the pictures to connect them with the stories, just in case readers aren’t sure which one goes with which.
