Hypothesis
We propose the use of pre-pubertal gilts as an animal biomedical model for young human females in order to assess pre-pubertal diet on attainment of puberty and growth.
Beef obtained from cattle receiving growth promotants during feedlot finishing does not alter the timing of puberty & body composition compared to females fed non-implanted beef or a common meat alternative
