A top-notch speaker line-up, dozens of livestreaming hours, tons of early-stage startup exhibitors, and a handful of drones flying overhead in Hardware Alley make this Disrupt a great Disrupt.

HBO’S SILICON VALLEY One of Disrupt New York’s biggest highlights was when TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington interviewed the cast and crew of HBO’s hit series Silicon Valley.

As one would expect from a show about tech entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, TechCrunch, specifically the Disrupt conference, plays a huge role.

The first season climaxes with the founders of the fictional startup, Pied Piper, attending Disrupt San Francisco and pitching their company in Startup Battlefield. Featured above: Alec Berg (writer, executive producer); Mike Judge (co-creator,

director, executive producer, writer); TJ Miller (actor); Thomas Middleditch (actor)

To make it as authentic as possible, the Silicon Valley crew recreated Disrupt San Francisco in great detail—even using the same printers for the signage and badges, and using past Startup Alley exhibitors as extras.
