Habitat
• The platypus lives in Eastern Australia in rivers, streams, and logs in the Rainforest.
Distribution Map
• Blue: Platypus biome
• White: Rest of Australia
Food
• The platypus eats many tiny fresh water animals like shrimp, insects, frogs, tadpoles, fish, fish eggs, etc.
Food Habits
• The platypus hunt every night with eyes, ears, and nostrils closed or taped. It eats always 1/3 of ½ of its body weight every day.
Animal Mixture
• The platypus has many interesting facts about its body of what animal they’re made out of. Its bill is a ducks so it’s part duck. Its tail is a beavers tail so it’s also part beaver. Finally, it is part otter.
Why Is It Endangered?
• It is endangered for three exact reasons. The first reason is because people destroying their habitat. Another reason is because they’re over hunting, poaching them and killing them for their fur. The last reason is from polluting the streams, rivers, and logs they live in.
What Has Been Done To Help
• The platypus is being protected by C.I.T.E.S and by the government. Also, people are educating kids. Finally scientist are studding the platypus.
Conclusion
• In the future I think that the platypus will be no longer endangered and will be protected well.
