micro-irrigation for dryland farmers (GEF medium sized project)

• Pond management (Ramsar)

Innovation in micro-irrigation for dryland farmers

• Objective: contribute to sustainable land management and support sustainable livelihoods in Senegal, through capacity-building, investments in micro-irrigation and learning, evaluation and adaptive management

• Duration: Oct 2009 – Oct 2012

• Partners: LEAD FA, GEF, UNDP, Communities in Bakel, Senegalese gov’t

EcoHealth

• “Helping research find health: Moving from evidence to policy”

• Objective: Linked to pan African session for LAFP theme on Ecohealth, this action research programme will work with government to examine institutionalisation of EcoHealth, across 5 countries

• Partners: LEAD Africa Fellowship programme partners, IDRC, Gov’t

Building capacity for climate change adaptation

• Description: Strengthening capacity of communities and local institutions to better respond to climate change, in Western and Southern Africa

• Partner: LEAD FA, LEAD SEA, LEAD International and DFID

Afrikki TV

• Description: 12-part documentary series to construct a fair and balanced image portraying current positive developments in Africa

• Partners: AfDB, Africable, MMN, EBK Productions, ENDA

• Project duration: 2008 – 2012

Participatory-GIS for NRM & food security

• Description: A pan-african research programme to contribute to making available good quality, reliable and accessible information systems through P-GIS, for natural resource management and food security
