DESCRIPTION
I used this slideshow at a YMCA staff conference that was focused on how to grow your self and individual career, not how to work for the YMCA better. This is all about how to use social networking to benefit yourself. I know I am missing parts and would welcome feedback. I tried to keep it at a starter level.

– Writing a blog post– Expanding your network– Replying to other people’s questions
Consider it an investment…
Be purposeful with time
• DON’T READ EVERYTHING• Take time everyday, don’t let it build up• Limit where you start• Learn to use filters• Take time to alter notification settings• Don’t join everything or friend everyone, it’s OK to
say no• If you fall behind just do a dump• DON’T READ EVERYTHING
Notice how busy this is?
The key is to skim and only read

It will payoff…the next time you:• are at a last minute deadline & need quick info• need a favor • want to contact someone• have a question, (they will reply since you did)
• look for a job• need to show what you have accomplished• struggle to remember something• hire a consultant or employee
