1) THE WATCH TOWER  A historic clock tower located at the centre

of the İzmir. The symbol of İzmir. The clock itself was a gift from German

Emperor. It is decorated in an elaborate 

Ottoman architecture style.

2) EFES ANTIQUE CITY

It was an ancient Greek city, one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League during the Classical Greek era.

3) POPULAR BEACHES , COASTAL AREAS Çeşme is very popular touristic place and

many people from all over the world prefer there for their holidays.

There is combination of natural beauty and historical ruins.

RELIGION Islam is the largest religion of Turkey. Around

99.0% percent of the population is Muslim. But there are many other people who have

different religion. People respect to different kinds of religions.

FOOD Mostly vegetables , olive oil , mediterranian

diet.

1) İzmir Meatballs : Spicy meatballs with potatos, cinnamon, and garlic served in tomato sauce.

2) STUFFED VINE LEAVES WITH OLIVE OIL

Common vegetables to stuff include tomato, pepper, onion, rice, and garlic.

3) KEŞKEK

This meal is a sort of dish that includes wheat , chicken or meat.

Anyone can add pepper and tomato souce.

Eating ‘’Keşkek’’ is traditional for wedding breakfasts in Turkey.

4) TELKADAYIF A popular desert all around Turkey ,

but originally special for İzmir. It is made with butter , nuts and sweat

nectar. You can buy ‘’telkadayıf’’ from markets

and you can make the souce and cook in the oven.

TRADİTİONAL CLOTHES AND DANCE ‘’Zeybek’’ is the traditional dance of

aegean side of the Turkey. It cames from the past and it has a particular costume and music.

DAILY LIFE Daily clothes are like normal europian

people. In aegean side , people have free , modern

thought. Many immigrants , tourists and retired

people choose to live in aegean. The weather is very hot in summer , rainy

and normal cold in winter.

DIALECTS The official language is Turkish. But

there are accent differences between eagean and east of Turkey.

A turkish people can easily realize that someone is from eagean.

CHARACTERİSTİCS OF AEGEAN In aegean , there are many

immigrant people from Greece and Balcans.

So , people are generally blonde or sandy. Brunette people generally live in east part of Turkey.

Marriage with relative people (from family) are not allowed.

Offended people help each other in happy and painful days.

Friendships are deep. When someone died , people have

taken food to funeral home for fifteen days.
