Welcome Home
One of the things I love about Christmas is looking around the church and seeing new faces. Some are visitors from far away. Some are family members drawing close to us during the holidays. And some are folks that have been busy. Maybe they've stepped away for a few months, or years, or even decades. To all these new faces, Welcome! Thank you for saying yes to that tug at your heart, invi ng you home. We are your parish family. The prac ce of the faith at Mission San Luis Rey and our Eucha-ris c Celebra on are here for you, to offer you the fullness of rela onship with Jesus Christ and the Church he founded. I hope you have the opportuni-ty a er Mass to introduce yourself to the celebrant and say, "hello." Our Catholic family isn't complete without you, here beside us, worshipping the Lord at the table of the Eucharist. On behalf of the priests, brothers and staff of the Old Mission, Parish, School of Theology, Retreat Center, Old Mission Montessori School and the Cemetery, I’d like to extend a word of gra tude to our brothers and sisters in Christ who make our cel-ebra on complete with their presence, their service and their ministry. In Mary's words in the Magnifi-cat, she proclaims the hope of every one of us -- "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord." (Luke 1:46) Thank you for saying yes to God's invita on to be an ac ve part of his plan of salva on. My prayer for all of us is to answer the call to live simpler lives this coming year, to feed the poor, use less, and listen carefully to the s ll, so voice of our Savior.
May you all have a blessed Christmas. Fr. David Gaa, OFM Pastor
THANK YOU TO: our Filipino Community

BIENVENIDOS A CASA
