THEME: FRIENDS GENERAL OBJECTIVES: -to make students communicate on
the topic; -to give information about true friends.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: - to write letters, to pay attention
on writing letters.
- to hold a discussion by answering
questions about close friends, to point down the most important
qualities in a friend;- to comment on the quotation about
friends using the new vocabulary;- to match the words to the
definitions, to translate the sentences;
- to find antonyms for the words
using a vocabulary;
- to give similar words in Romanian- to read for specific info, to
translate the text, to find synonyms to the words in the text.
LESSON TYPE: mixed , based on individual work to the text.
LEARNING STRATEGIES: letter writing, discussion,creativity, commenting, reading, expressing opinions,
individual work, work in pairs, work in groups, audition.ACTIVITIES AT THE LESSON: listening, speaking, reading,
writing.

with quotations and proverbs, papers A4, markers.

DIDACTIC SCENARIO
I. Organized moment .
- Greeting pupils. Encouraging them for the beginning of
the lesson.
II. Warming up.- Speaking about the weather.
It’s a fine day today, isn’t it? III. Putting-up-to-date the knowledge.
- We have spoken about the weather outdoors, checking up
the homework we will learn about the forecasts in your
families. You had to write a letter to your parents that are far
away. Let us see how do you face the difficulties.IV. Announcing of the new subject of the lesson.
- The subject of the lesson is “FRIENDS”- Do you know any proverbs about friends or friendship
(I will read some proverbs)
- From your letters we have learnt that you feel good in
your families, tell us please, who is the best friend in your
family? Why? On whom you can rely on?- Is it good to have a close friend?
- What can you say about your close friend?
- What does a lasting friendship depends on?
We have discussed about close friends, point down which
are the most important qualities in a friend. You have a list of adjectives on the blackboard. You may add some other words to
this list. Work in pairs.V. Audition.
- Listen to the text “FRIENDS IN BUSINESS”. What can
you say about these friends? Are they close friends or not?
Does such a friendship last? What is it based on?VI. Consolidation of the material .
- On the blackboard there is a quotation “ Your friend is
the man who knows all about you, but still likes you” (Elbert
Hubbard) Comment on it in no more than three sentences. Use
the words from the word bank.

- Vocabulary work in groups.
1. Ex. 1 Match the words with their definitions.
2. Ex. 2 Translate the sentences. Be attentive to the
underlined words.
3. Ex. 3 Find the antonyms for the following words usingthe dictionary if necessary.
- Read the text “How to befriends”. Say when and how
one can make friends.
VII. Homework.
- Find in the text the synonyms for the following words.
- Creativity: You have a true friend. Tell your classmates
what characteristics of your friend you like best and explainwhy.
VIII. Apreciation.
Advice: The most important thing to remember
is…”Always appreciate the friends you have. A fight may come
and go very easily, but a friendship could last forever”.
