Plant-Wide Perspective for Facility and Security Management

Bio-Treatment Plant

Data from REDMAP, combined with ongoingpollution prevention efforts, are enabling plantoperators to optimize the biological treatmentactivity to reduce the amount of toxic sludgegenerated, which was reduced 60 percent in oneyear, despite wastewater volume increases.

Data analysis from REDMAP’s Up StreamMonitoring System enabled operators to save400,000 gallons of water per day in unnecessaryflows from one of the plant’s production areas, saving money and a valuable resource, but alsoimproving the operational efficiency of thewastewater treatment plant.

On-Line DocumentStorage & Retrieval

• Manuals, schematics, operatingand emergency procedures, vendorliterature, regulatory reporting, software drivers, trend analyses.

• All critical documentation isavailable to everyone with accessto the EIS intranet.

• Documentation updated on-line isimmediately available to usersthroughout the facility.

•Web-enabled database and document management toolthat conforms to the structure of the ISO 14000 series ofenvironmental management standards.

•ISO 9000 and safety management versions underdevelopment.

•Integrates real-time environmental and industrial processmonitoring with management system objectives, targets, and procedures.

Brytepath’s design conforms to the ISO14001 standard for environmentalmanagement systems, but is customizable forother EMS approaches.

BrytePath’s Document Managerdramatically simplifies documentmanagement and auditing requirements.

Brytepath is accessible from any Browser-equipped and authorized PC, and provides acustomizable “dashboard” for all personnelwith EMS responsibility or interest.

BrytePath provides multi-layer security andmanager-defined user privileges for logins, screen editing, document uploading, and more.

Unique features include:

•Color-coded reminders for EMS, PM orother task deadlines.

Unique features include:

•Integrated real-time or historicalperformance and other user-definedreporting.

Unique features include:

•Easy access to key EMS documents andcontacts.

BrytePath organizes all information needed for achievingEMS goals on one screen. Clicking on blue links opens upneeded documents, procedures, legal text, contact andtraining information for each environmental aspect.

Color-coded updatereminders simplifyburdensomedocument reviewrequirements.

Summary

•REDMAP has shown Web database technologies cansimplify and reduce costs in implementing andadministering EMS.

•A paperless approach to EMS deployment removes muchof the burden of EMS administration.

•Integration of sensors and other real-time information withEMS goals can increase the utility and returns of an EMS.

• BrytePath is currently being deployed in the hotel, chemical, and asphalt industries, as well as at Radford andJacksonville Naval Air Station.
